Yeast and Fungus Control
Past or current factors that encourage overgrowth, translocation, and mutation of yeast and fungus:
Please note: In some cases just one of these factors is sufficient to cause an overgrowth. In other cases, a combination of these factors is the cause. Overgrowths can occur in a matter of days or they can gradually manifest over a period of many years.
- not breast fed
- thrush as infant
- antibiotics during childhood
- frequent and high consumption of any of the following: fruit juice, soda pop, ice cream, pastries, candy, sugared breakfast cereals, milk, dried fruit, starchy food
- colds, flus, or other illnesses once a year or more
- frequent consumption of junk food
- long-term antibiotic treatment (the longer the term, the stronger the yeast overgrowth factor becomes)
- childhood allergies or asthma
- childhood trauma
- cravings for sweets, breads, or alcohol
- binge eating or drinking
- periods of heavy drinking or alcoholism (the longer the duration of alcohol abuse, the stronger the yeast overgrowth factor becomes)
- hypochlorhydria (low stomach acid; about 80% of people with yeast overgrowths unknowingly have this condition, including most people who believe they produce too much stomach acid)
- sensitivity to cigarette smoke, auto exhaust, perfumes, and other chemicals
- foot fungus, toenail fungus, “jock itch”, dandruff, anal itching, vaginal yeast infections, or fungal skin rashes (the greater the historical number of outbreaks, the greater the yeast overgrowth factor)
- long-term use of steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or birth control pills (the longer the term of use, the greater the yeast overgrowth factor)
- past or current use of immune-suppressive drugs, such as in chemotherapy
- long periods of high stress and lack of vigorous aerobic exercise
- allergic reactions
- living in a moldy environment
