Ultra Smoothie

A complete meal with high therapeutic value designed by Integrative Medicine Practitioner. Perfect for breakfast, or to replace any other meal. It can also be used 20 minutes or more before vigorous exercise, or afterwards.
Basic Recipe:

1 cup Unsweetened soy milk by Devansoy (mix powder and water according to label) or unsweetened cartons by West Soy or Pacific brands, or plain or vanilla flavored low-fat milk from rice, almond, soy, or oat. Check the sugar content on the package; you may want to dilute the milk with water to lower your sugar intake.
½ to 1 teaspoon Organic or regular Hawaiian spirulina, or alfalfa juice powder, or Greens First, or organic barley grass juice powder or carob-mint Hawaiian spirulina, or Wheat grass juice powder
1 scoop Hemp protein (refrigerate after opening) or 2 heaping Tablespoons of brown rice protein (vanilla, berry, or chocolate)
It is wise to alternate between hemp and rice protein.
1 to 2 tablespoons Flax oil, or Omega Twin, or Essential Woman blend. To avoid rancidity, use Barlean's brand only (refrigeration required & shake before each use).
1 teaspoon Super All Bee Power (royal jelly, propolis, bee pollen, ginseng plus other herbs and nutrients)
1 to 2 tablespoons Liquid calcium/magnesium complex with Vitamin D-3 (cranberry, orange, or vanilla flavor) (refrigerate after opening) or 1 scoop Cal-Mag Citrate powder
½ cup Organic berries, fresh or frozen, or ½ to 1 organic banana (OK to use both, or experiment with other fruit as desired). Avoid blueberries (they are acid- forming) if using brown rice protein. Fruit is optional and may be omitted and replaced with any desired combination of essential oils, Stevia, xylitol, or glycerin flavorings as per the variations section of this recipe.

Additions & Variations:

Use variations recommended by Integrative Medicine Practitioner or as desired.

  • After one week of use, gradually increase (¼ teaspoon per week) to 1 to 3 teaspoons any of the following: carob-mint spirulina, Hawaiian spirulina, barley grass, alfalfa leaf, or wheat grass.
  • Add 2 to 3 teaspoons Maca root powder to improve hormonal health and endurance.
  • Increase Super All Bee Power up to 1 tablespoons if more energy is needed.
  • Anti-fungal and anti-bacterial therapy can be expedited if added fruit is minimized or omitted.
  • Add ½ teaspoon licorice root powder or anise powder for sweetness and therapeutic value.
  • Add ¼ to ½ teaspoon organic ginger or cinnamon powder for more flavor and therapeutic value.
  • Add water if smoothie is too thick. Add ¼ teaspoon or more guar gum powder to make it thicker and more filling.
  • If additional sweetness is desired, use clear liquid Stevia, and/or vanilla, almond, coconut, raspberry, or orange glycerin-based flavoring, or use up to 1 tablespoon XyloSweet for additional therapeutic value and sweetness.
  • To improve flavor and add many therapeutic benefits, add any of the following essential oils or combinations as desired (note: internal use of essential oils not purchased at Health Naturals is not recommended, as they may contain pesticides and other toxins and may taste different). Using Health Naturals essential oils, start with the lowest number of drops initially and increase thereafter as desired. Experiment and have fun!
    • 1-4 drops ginger
    • 2-6 drops lemon
    • 2-4 drops grapefruit
    • 1-3 drops anise
    • 1-3 drops cardamom
    • 1 drop peppermint
    • 1-2 teasp. raspberry glycerin & 2-4 drops tangerine
    • 2 drops anise & 2 drops cardamom
    • 2 drops lemon & 2 drops cardamom
    • 2 drops mandarin & 2 drops cardamom
    • 1-2 teasp. vanilla glycerin & 2 drops cardamom
    • 1-2 teasp. vanilla glycerin & 2-4 drops ginger
    • 2 drops lemon & 2 drops tangerine
  • Add 1 to 2 scoops of Meta Fiber (refrigerate after opening) for a thicker smoothie and additional therapeutic value (reduces cholesterol and improves bowel health).
  • To boost your immune system and improve bowel health add 1 to 3 teaspoons of Arabinex, a sweet tasting extract from the larch tree (information sheet available).
  • To further boost phyto-estrogens (plant sources of estrogenic activity known to correct certain female hormonal imbalances & reduce cancer risk) add 1 teaspoon of PhytoEstrogen herbal powder. The basic smoothie formula already contains phyto-estrogens and therefore this product should only be added when additional phyto-estrogens are believed to be needed.
  • If your body is almost always cold, try using lukewarm soy milk and adding banana and ¼ to ½ teaspoon of any or all of the following organic spices: cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger. Do not add alfalfa.
  • Add 1 level tablespoon de-oiled soy lecithin powder for therapeutic effect on liver, gall bladder, fat metabolism, brain function, and cholesterol control.
  • Add 1 to 2 tablespoon raw almond butter for weight gain.
  • Add 1 level tablespoon apple pectin powder to improve bowel health.
